Modifying the Properties of Job Groups
You can modify the properties of active Job Groups. This change affects the selected execution and not the general definition of the group.
The definition on Job Group objects specifies the maximum number of tasks the group should process simultaneously. Basically, the options are:
-
Tasks are process one by one, there is no concurrent processing.
The sequence in which they are started is not controlled by the Group but by the Automation Engine Priority specified in the individual object definitions.
-
Tasks can be processed simultaneously, a specific number of tasks that can be processed concurrently is defined.
For example, in a group with 10 tasks in which 8 can be processed simultaneously, when the group is executed 8 tasks will be Active and 2 remain Registered. As soon as a task ends, task number 9 changes to Active, and so on.
The system decides which tasks is the next based on its AE priority and on the FIFO principle.
When monitoring an active Job Group, you may want to adapt the number of concurrent tasks.
